Biography
King is a graduate of Bethel University in Arden Hills, MN and has received specialized training in Integrated Marketing Communications (University of Utah), Advertising (Santa Barbara City College, Santa Barbara CA), Database Marketing (Database Marketing Institute) and Direct Marketing (Regis University, Denver CO). He is a faculty member of Data University, an online instructional training site for database and direct marketers. He also served on the faculty of the DMA's Environmentally Responsible Marketer (ERM) National Certification Program and USPS' Executive Mail Center Manager Certification. King currently serves as a judge for the DMA's International Echo Award for Direct Marketing Excellence and is a charter member of the DMA's Echo Academy.
King has participated in European Direct Marketing trade missions with Victoria Secret (Paris France) and Viking Press (Frankfurt Germany), and had been an exhibitor at the London Direct Marketing Fair in London, England. He has made direct marketing presentations with Canada Post in British Columbia and Manitoba, and Japan Post here in the United States.
In addition to having been a speaker at the National Direct Marketing Association's Annual Conference, and New York City's DM Days, King has conducted all-day direct mail seminars for national marketing staffs of Washington Mutual, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Doubletree Hotels, Homewood Suites and Oakley Sunglasses. He has also been a speaker for the American Marketing Association, Ad Federation, and the Association of National Advertisers, as well as DMA affiliate clubs in Houston, Kansas City, Honolulu, Omaha, New York City and Atlanta.
